Alcortin™ (1%iodoquinol - 2% hydrocortisone) Gel
Alcortin (1% iodoquinol - 2% hydrocortisone) is a broad spectrum anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory gel for the relief of mild dermatoses complicated by fungal or bacterial colonization. Alcortin offers a comprehensive approach to treating mild dermatoses and combines a well-established anti-infective agent (1% iodoquinol) and an anti-inflammatory agent (2% hydrocortisone) in a proprietary Biopeptide Aloe Complex (BAC) vehicle. Alcortin is an ideal option for treating mild dermatoses conditions when there is a dual infection (fungal and bacterial), when patients have trouble keeping the infected area dry or when inflammation is associated with infection.
Alcortin is fragrance-free, paraben-free and allergy-tested. In standard repeat insult patch tests (RIPT), after 329 patch trials, an independent testing agency concluded there was no evidence to suggest an increased likelihood of sensitization from using Alcortin.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ALCORTIN
Alcortin is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to iodoquinol or hydrocortisone. Avoid prolonged use over large surface areas or use with occlusive dressings. Alcortin is not recommended for infants. Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients under the age of 12 have not been established. As with any anti-infective agent, prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms. Burning, itching, irritation and dryness have been reported infrequently following the topical use of corticosteroids.
